Service Description

At Pearson Tutoring, we provide learners with the confidence, skills and motivation to understand mathematical concepts and quickly develop and enhance their knowledge, understanding and skill level. We carefully analyse how each learner thinks and processes information and adjust our teaching approach to suit their level of education. We also understand that each learner (and in some cases, parents) have different academic expectations for the tutoring sessions, so we consider each situation on a case by case basis to ensure the session is tailored for each learner. Brian provides tutoring for all levels of mathematics from Grades 1 to 12, University as well as other Tertiary institutions. Some key concepts and learnings for each study bracket are listen below. GRADES 1 TO 6 Number and Place Value, Fraction and Decimals, Money and Financial Mathematics, Patterns and Algebra, Using Units of Measurement, Shapes, Geometric Reasoning, Chance, Location and Transformation, Data representation and interpretation. GRADES 7 TO 10 Real Numbers, Money and Financial Mathematics, Patterns and Algebra, Linear and Non-Linear Relationships, Using Units of Measurement, Geometric Reasoning, Chance, Pythagoras and Trigonometry, Data Representation and Interpretation. GRADES 11 & 12 Algebra, Graphing, Percentages, Rate and Ratios, Simple and Compound Interest, Matrices, Simple and Complex Trigonometry, Probability and Relative Frequencies, Functions and Graphs, Calculus , Vectors (incl. Three Dimensions), Real and Complex Numbers, Integration and Differentiation. TERTIARY STUDIES Numerical Calculus, Matrix and Vector Operations, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Complex Algebra, Numerical Differentiation and Integration. These concepts and learnings are just a general outline as many schools, universities and other tertiary institutions offer a broad range of curriculum. During a session, learners can expect a thorough review of their class work, organising and preparing for exams, as well as being taught the concepts and theories behind assignments. Homework is also reviewed if applicable. At Pearson Tutoring, we feel an obligation for all learners to achieve their desired academic outcome.
